Draft Horse Experience
MacAiley Farm was established in 2017 by myself, Deb (nee MacLachlan) and Ken Pailey. The farm comes about due to my passion for my draft horses and desire to have them available to me at home. I have been training and showing draft horses for over 16 years now. I have owned various breeds of horses starting with Belgian draft horses, Percheron, Clydesdale, Standardbred, Appaloosa and a couple of crossbred horses but I find my favourite breed is Clydesdales. As I review the horses that I personally purchased I realized that they were all Clydesdales with the exception of 1 Standardbred. I am now committed to raising, training, showing and breeding Clydesdales. We currently have 4 Clydesdales on the farm. We are expecting a new addition in May as Winnie is expecting her 1st foal. I find many people admire and enjoy these beautiful horses and therefore I thoroughly enjoy sharing our horses by offering the Draft Horse Experiences.
Ken and I met when we were teenagers and quickly formed a strong bond. Ken and I chose different paths in life but always maintained a friendship that could connect and catch up throughout the years. Ken and I found our paths lining up again in 2016 and decided to pursue this farm together. Many years ago Ken owned a horse and carriage business in Chatham. Ken had a Belgian mare and a Percheron mare that lead his vis-à-vis carriage. He comes to this farm with a few draft horse stories and pictures of his own!
Now we are ready to share our horses and stories with you. I have hosted a few draft horse experiences in the past and folks really enjoy their day and routinely tell me that the experience is more then they hoped for. Please watch for reviews in the near future. Please visit the Draft Horse Experience page for options, prices and dates.
Dog Boarding
I have raised and trained a number of dogs over the years. One of my pets didn't do very well at a kennel during our vacation. Zoey was used to his quiet kennel on the farm and the busy, barking kennel was a bit more then he could handle and therefore he was ill when I returned from vacation. He was boarded at an excellent kennel but the environment was not for him. His condition was treatable and he returned to himself quickly but I never put him in a kennel again. We have lots of excellent kennels in the community but I'm sure that there are other pets like my Zoey. For that reason, I'm offering one-on-one dog boarding for your pet in my home. Please check the Dog Boarding page for services, prices and dates available. I will take multiple dogs but only if they come from the same home or family.
